Colorado Hospital Association Elects New Officers and Board Members

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLO. (Sept. 20, 2011) — The Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) added a wealth of new talent and perspectives to the CHA Board of Trustees at an election held during the
Association’s 2011 Annual Meeting in Vail.
John R. Gardner, chief executive officer of Yuma District Hospital and Clinics (Yuma), was elected as
Chairman. In addition to Gardner, George Hayes, president and chief executive officer of Medical Center of
the Rockies (Loveland), was appointed as Chairman-Elect, while Mike Baxter, chief executive officer of
Parkview Medical Center (Pueblo), was named Secretary/Treasurer.
“This is an exceptional group of health care leaders, and their insight is needed now more ever,” said Steven J.
Summer, CHA president and CEO. “It’s critical to have trustees with the vision and skills necessary to help
guide CHA and its members through health care reform.”
CHA also welcomed the following new Board members:
Mike McBride, president and CEO, St. Mary’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center
David Hamm, CEO, Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital
Mike Fordyce, president, Craig Hospital
