Date July 11, 2016
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLO. – At its most recent meeting, the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) Board of Trustees elected Debbie Farrell, board chairman of the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, to serve as one of two hospital trustees on the CHA board. The CHA board plays a critical role in helping CHA work on behalf of its member hospitals and health systems on a number of critical issues, including payment reform, hospital price transparency, data analytics, community benefit data and much more.
“The Colorado Hospital Association is pleased to add Debbie in this important role on our Board of Trustees,” said CHA President and CEO Steven J. Summer. “Her perspective as a hospital board chairman will be vital to the other CHA board members and the board’s collective efforts to help guide Colorado’s hospitals and health systems through a time of great change in health care.”
Farrell brings a background in international finance as well as experience as a hospital board director to her new role. After earning an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, she worked for two of the Big Four accounting firms, then spent a decade at the World Bank before becoming a managing director at Putnam Investments. She has also consulted for Freddie Mac and State Street Bank.
"Debbie brings a broad understanding of the issues facing rural hospitals and many years of experience in the financial sector to the CHA board," said Robert Morasko, CEO of Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. "She will be a tremendous asset.”
