CHA Statement on Bipartisan Governors’ Health Care Blueprint
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLO. – Aug. 31, 2017 – The Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) and its member hospitals and health systems have long been committed to protecting coverage for all Coloradans. CHA is grateful to Gov. John Hickenlooper for his leadership and willingness to work in a bipartisan manner to introduce ideas to strengthen the nation’s health care insurance markets.
CHA supports the plan’s recommendations to stabilize the insurance markets, as that will be essential for maintaining coverage for all Coloradans. The Association is also in strong support of the move to encourage state innovation waivers, which would give Colorado the ability to determine how to best to improve health care delivery and payment models in our state.
“CHA and its member hospitals and health systems strongly encourage Congress to consider these foundational proposals put forward by Governor Hickenlooper and his colleagues from around the country,” said Steven J. Summer, president and CEO, CHA. “This bipartisan proposal would help us continue to improve the current health care marketplace and maintain access while also moving us forward to a more innovative and affordable health care system.”
