Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) is the leading voice of the Colorado hospital and health system community. Representing more than 100 hospitals and health systems throughout the state, CHA serves as a trusted, credible, and reliable resource on health issues, hospital data, and trends for its members, media, policymakers and the general public. What We Do

CHA provides state and federal legislators and policy makers with information regarding key subjects, such as health care reform and its effects on both Colorado’s hospitals and the communities they serve. CHA also helps to educate elected officials about the important role that Colorado’s hospitals play in their communities and the many ways that state lawmakers can work with their local hospitals to support a healthier constituency. CHA is committed to improving clinical excellence in hospitals across the state. CHA works to enhance the culture of safety among member hospitals by offering educational opportunities, technical support and guidance on a variety of evidence-based initiatives that both expand the quality of care and advance leadership’s commitment to patient safety issues. CHA is an active leader and participant in key patient safety projects, including the Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) and Reducing Hospital Readmissions and Safe Transitions Collaborative. CHA strives to ensure that rural communities maintain access to high-quality and affordable health care. Critical access hospitals (CAHs) play an essential role in keeping rural communities healthy. The Association addresses workforce shortages, hosts events, supports telemedicine, and provides resources to help rural hospitals address the unique challenges they face in the evolving health care landscape. CHA continually provides its members with information and updates regarding payer functions and government reimbursement. The Association vigorously advocates on behalf of its members to ensure the financial stability of hospitals, and allow them to best serve their communities. Learn more

CHA has created a robust analytics function that is crucial to informing CHA’s advocacy on behalf of its members. The Center for Health Information and Data Analytics’ goal is to proactively use data to predict the effect of potential policy changes on hospitals and health systems and study variations in clinical practice throughout the state. CHA is committed to continually educating its members about federal and state health care reform efforts, and the impacts that those efforts may have on hospitals and patients. Central components of CHA’s day-to-day operations include maintaining the Colorado Hospital Provider Fee, promoting insurance coverage, Medicaid expansion and access to care, and supporting members in integrating the Value-Based Purchasing Program at hospitals statewide.

CHA is committed to meeting both the ongoing and emerging educational needs of its members. The Association offers a range of timely and cost-effective educational programs focusing on relevant topics impacting Colorado hospitals now and in the future. CHA Broadband Services is the state consortium leader in administering federal dollars to aid eligible health care entities, especially in underserved areas of the state and region, gain access to broadband connectivity to provide care in their communities. Learn more

CHA Shared Services is a subsidiary of CHA, supporting Colorado’s health care facilities by providing a broad array of strategic services that generate revenues in support of CHA membership.
