CHA Financial Advisors (CHAFA) offers a wide range of financial services for healthcare facilities. Our staff has established relationships with trusted providers to help broker deals on behalf of Colorado’s healthcare facilities for retirement and investment services.
Summary:
The President, CHA Financial Advisors and Shared Services will develop the vision and execute the strategic and operational plans of CHASS and CHAFA, demonstrating tangible goals and objectives for both financial and non-financial key performance indicators. This position ensures that resources, technology, procedures and personnel are linked to goals and objectives and provides ongoing stewardship and direction of all programs, including providing reports and other relevant communication to all Boards.
This position is responsible for the direction and overall management of CHASS and CHAFA including delivery of services, products, policy development, long- and short-range planning, member relations, management of staff, and financial performance.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with President/CEO of Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) in developing and implementing the strategic plan of CHASS.
- Prepares, recommends and implements long-range and annual objectives business plans.
- Develops, recommends and upon approval operates within an annual budget.
- Directs and monitors the overall marketing and communications programs for products and services of CHASS and CHAFA.
- Evaluates current services and programs for effectiveness and quality.
- Evaluates opportunities for new services and products.
- Conducts research to attain vendors for endorsement that will enhance customers’ needs.
- Maintains relationships with endorsed vendors. Determines vendors’ utilization and service to customers and keeps vendors abreast of the results.
- Serves as primary board contact, attends meetings and ensures that the board members are kept fully informed on the operations of CHASS and CHAFA.
- Serves as a spokesperson for CHASS and CHAFA, maintaining effective relationships with CHA, vendors and customers.
- Promotes and attends conventions and seminars and utilizes the events as major educational and member relations opportunities.
- Coordinates activities with personnel of CHA.
- Conducts regular meetings with subordinates for communication and coordination of efforts within the overall framework of CHA.
- Develop and implement marketing plans to generate non-dues income through Premier Partners, including promotion of subsidiary products.
- Develop long-range plans for CHASS, including identifying and targeting new markets.
- Develop and implement strategies generating non-dues revenue for CHA.
- Direct the sales efforts with prospective advertisers, sponsors and exhibitors.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with Premier Partners.
- Perform other related duties as directed or required.

Member Relations and Customer Service: Responsible for knowledge of our member hospitals and their issues in order to serve our membership with effective customer service and the realization that we effect health care for all Coloradans and work for Colorado hospitals.
Morale & Productivity: Is directly responsible for departmental recruitment, new staff skill development, the departmental environmental climate, staff motivation, and the daily management and retention of assigned staff.
Budgetary: Develops and maintains annual operating and capital budgets while responsible for monitoring CHASS and CHAFA activities’ financial contribution and cost for the overall financial success of CHA.
Continuous Self Development Plan: Maintains a self-development program to increase personal effectiveness and broaden technical knowledge and organizational skills.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Demonstrated successful track record in sales or business development in the hospital or health care industry.
- Experience working with and managing a Board.
- Background with life, health, property and casualty insurance products and/or financial services required. Insurance licenses preferred (NASD securities license 6, 26, and 63, property and casualty, life, and/or heath insurance).
- Requires thorough understanding of a specialized area of knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or a minimum of ten years related experience required.
- Ten years of experience in business administration, business development, sales or related fields, with at least five years in management required.
- Must have valid Drivers’ License and proof of insurance.

Colorado Hospital Association Broadband Services (CHABS) serves as a designated federal consortium to administer broadband technology subsidies for Colorado. CHABS works closely with Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) non-profit member hospitals and health systems, mental health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, safety net clinics and other health care providers to achieve organizational goals for broadband capacity, business continuity, network management and service level agreements. CHABS also provides federal and state advocacy for expanding broadband in remote areas to enable the implementation of telehealth and improve the overall health and health care of communities.
Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing key aspects of the Federal Communication Commission’s Rural Health Care fund, administered by the Universal Service Administration Company (USAC). This multi-faceted support role utilizes customer service, administrative, data management, billing, accounting, and project support skills on a day to day basis. The primary responsibilities include billing and invoicing, collecting and organizing IT and telecommunications inventory, managing requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP), compiling vendor evaluations, and creating reporting. The program coordinator plays a strong customer outreach role and will serve as the primary contact with vendors, service providers or service agents related to daily billing and invoicing operations. This position requires the ability to multi-task and provide customer satisfaction while managing multiple deadlines. The successful candidate will be detail orientated, organized, and process driven.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
- Become a subject matter expert on Rural Health Care program rules
- Serve as a liaison between clients and CHABS for all program related needs
- Develop joint processes with clients and service for ongoing billing efficiencies including identifying opportunities for automation of processes where applicable
- Become familiar with client’s business and identify subsidy opportunities
- Collaborate with Senior Director to develop and maintain standard business processes and documentation
- Utilize internal systems to ensure that contractual obligations are current and in adherence
- Learn the detailed level billing processes for each client
- Provide periodic reporting to client on utilization of federal subsidies
- Forecast and track key account metrics and provide internal reports on a quarterly basis
- Prepare CHABS member data and compile database reports for Sr. Director
- Enter customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard
- Assist with maintenance of strong internal controls and process documentation
- Ensure customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from multiple systems; purging files to eliminate duplication of data
- Assist in maintaining billing contact listings, committees, and distribution lists using internal database applications
- Assist with processing customer and account documents by reviewing data for discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the client/vendor for resolution
- Update database with client telecommunications inventory
- Professionally represent and promote CHABS at trainings and events as required. Attend internal and external meetings.
- Develop and maintain positive relations with corporate, governmental agencies, and the State of Colorado offices
- Manage challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed to seek amicable solutions
- Contribute to team success by assisting with other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (or otherwise stated):
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or five (5) years of experience in a client facing role in health care, telecommunications or financial/banking industry
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency of all Microsoft Office Suite products, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous account management, project management, and/or administrative support experience required
- Previous experience in accounting and/or strong knowledge of accounting principles strongly preferred
- Invoicing and billing support experience preferred, experience with telecommunications invoicing highly desired
- Demonstrated organizational skills and previous experience learning/following complex multiple step processes required
- Knowledge of internal office equipment, i.e. fax, copier, postage, printing, required
- Valid drivers license with ability to travel to client meetings within the state of Colorado
- Self-starter with strong desire to learn; coachable and receptive to feedback
