Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
As part of the data team, the Maternal Health Data Analyst and Program Lead will apply analytical expertise and program experience in a cross-functional role, supporting both the data team and the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC). With a unique set of data and products, the CHA data team provides valuable information, dynamic analysis, and thought leadership to hospitals in Colorado and other hospital associations and customers throughout the US. Through a strategic data partnership, CHA supports CPCQC in its mission to ensure that mothers, birthing individuals, and their families in Colorado receive culturally relevant, safe, equitable, high-quality care no matter who they are or where they live. The Data Analyst, working closely with the CPCQC team, will oversee a portfolio of data and analytic products and deliverables to help CPCQC and CHA achieve strategic goals related to maternal-infant health outcomes improvement. These data initiatives will deliver value to key areas such as clinical quality outcomes, health equity, and enhancing member engagement. The Maternal Health Data Analyst and Program Lead will:
- In partnership with CPCQC, develop and manage data programs related to maternal and infant health clinical quality improvement on behalf of member hospitals.
- Ensure timely execution of workload and communicate project timelines clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a key point of contact for data-related inquiries, ensuring streamlined communication and support for end users.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.
- Create analytical reports using Alteryx, Power BI, Excel, and/or SQL.
- Work with the Data Quality and Security Program Manager and relevant stakeholders to collect and review discharge data and other data sets.
- Maintain and improve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual data processing and reporting processes, including regular digital reports and datasets for delivery.
- Manage and maintain all hospital and non-hospital related maternal and infant health related data sources, visualization development and member training/support.
- Support the productivity and development of other team members by helping solve problems, sharing analytic skills and providing training as needed.
- Stay up to date on the needs of CPCQC, data team, government, hospital members, and how they translate to new application features.
- Follow and ensure compliance with all security, HIPAA, and internal policies for appropriate use and protection of PHI and sensitive data.
- Review Power BI access requests and create user accounts on Azure Active Directory, assigning proper level of access based on requestor’s role and HIPAA guidance.
- Participate in meetings with members and other stakeholders to gain input on industry trends and best practices and identify areas of future opportunity for CPCQC or CHA.
- Analyze maternal health data trends to help drive policy recommendations and quality improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related sciences or analytics required, such as Public Health, Statistics or Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Biomedical, Data Science or Analytics, Business Intelligence, Behavioral Economics.
- Minimum of two years of data analytics or related experience required. Prior work with healthcare related data and/or experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Experience in coordinating and supporting initiatives, engaging with clients or stakeholders, and managing multiple projects or programs to ensure successful execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Familiarity with data analysis and automation tools such as SPSS, R, SQL, Alteryx, Python, XML/HTML, or SAS, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies as needed.
- Ability to build and maintain reports in business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with healthcare issues and an interest in healthcare policy and analysis.
- Strong critical thinking and stellar communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Experience with databases and developing dynamic applications.

This is a hybrid position based in our downtown Denver office. Candidates must reside in Colorado within a reasonable commuting distance, as in-office presence may be requested, as needed. The employee’s primary residence and tax filing must be in the state of Colorado. Relocation assistance is not available.
Hiring salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 annually, benefits eligible
The hiring salary range represents a targeted hiring range based on candidate’s experience, education, and/or skill level. The actual starting salary may be more or less depending on individual qualifications and does not represent the position’s full salary range.
