Colorado Center for the Advancement of Patient Safety

The Colorado Center for the Advancement of Patient Safety (CCAPS) is the leading provider of quality improvement and patient safety resources for Colorado hospitals and health systems. As a subsidiary of Colorado Hospital Association, CCAPS serves its more than 100 member hospitals and health systems through initiatives to improve patient care, workforce development and community partnerships that ensure a high degree of quality and value throughout the continuum of care. Through CCAPS, Colorado’s hospitals and health systems work continuously to improve the care provided to their patients and communities.

Of note, CCAPS also serves as the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety department within CHA.

Purpose Statement

CCAPS engages and empowers member hospitals and their employees to continue improving health care quality, safety, access and value for Colorado patients, families and communities through ongoing education, collaboration and innovation.

The CCAPS Team

The CCAPS team is comprised of clinicians, quality professionals, clinical managers, project managers and data analysts, most of whom have direct experience working within hospitals.

Past Quality/Patient Safety Projects

CCAPS has worked with member hospitals and health systems on important initiatives such as C. diff toolkits, wristband standardization, MRSA prevention and much more. While these projects no longer are active, many important resources are still available to Colorado hospitals and health systems.
