CHA Emergency Codes Implementation

Adoption of the CHA-recommended emergency codes is voluntary.  It is not a mandate to adopt all or any of the plain-language codes.  The Colorado Hospital Association Council of Quality Professionals recommended that Colorado develop a set of standardized codes to reduce variation of emergency codes among Colorado hospitals; increase competency-based skills of hospital staff working in multiple facilities; and increase staff, patient and public safety.  More information on the CHA Emergency Codes and how to implement the use of these codes in your facility can be found in the Emergency Code Implementation Guide below.
