Benefits

Employee Benefit Research Institute
Established in 1978, the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) is the only nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to original public policy research and education on economic security and employee benefits. EBRI began because a few people believed that the country needed a “think tank” that would focus on employee benefits and related issues of economic security. It has evolved into the most authoritative and highly respected public policy research organization on these topics in the nation. We will look at Benefit Fundamentals, which offers a straightforward, basic explanation of employee benefit programs in the private and public sectors. Written in clear, non-technical language, this fact-filled study covers everything from health insurance to pension plans and from retirement planning to dependent care programs. Each chapter reviews the history of the program, outlines its design and structure, and reviews related legislation and regulations.
